Owusu-Adjei, Seth Ogyebre Msc., Phd


Position :

Seth Owusu-Adjei joined the centre from Noguchi memorial Research Institute as a Research Officer (Medical Parasitologist/Entomologist). He was involved in coordination of field activities and rose to become the Head of the Malaria Unit, and Coordinator of the Malaria Incidence Study at the NHRC.

Owusu proceeded to do his Master Degree, and Doctorate, and is currently the head of Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC).

Research interest(s):

Malaria Epidemiology as well as Epidemiology and control of Lymphatic filariasis and Schistosomiasis in northern Ghana.

I am also interested in Molecular Entomology, Mechanisms of gene flow in wild populations of mosquitoes in Ghana; the genetic factors determining the viability of malaria parasites in the mosquito, and the immune protection systems of the mosquitoes to the malaria parasites.
