Community Health and Family Planning(CHFP)
The Community Health and Family Planning project (CHFP) tests the hypothesis that improved health care delivery can induce a demographic and health transition in rural Ghana.
It involves the mobilisation of traditional community resources for PHC delivery and the retraining and relocation of community health nurses to live and work in rural areas. Findings have already proved that it is feasible and a national health care policy has been designed using results of the CHFP.
