Job Title: Study Coordinator

I joined the Navrongo Health Research centre in 2003 as a clinical research coordinator of the NIH sponsored malaria studies. My responsibilities included writing of standard and study specific operating procedures SOPs/SSPs, for the running of a malaria case control study from 2003 to 2004 and completion of case report forms for the Out Patient Department, OPD arm of the case control study. Collection, storage and archiving of essential documents were also some of my responsibilities.

In 2005, I was temporarily assigned to work on a meningitis vaccine trial in the centre as a vaccines coordinator. My duties in that study were to ensure smooth running and maintenance of the vaccine cold chain both in the lab and on the field during vaccination sessions. I was also responsible for vaccine accountability and carrying out quality checks on vaccines reconstitution during vaccination sessions.

Currently, I work as a study coordinator on a Birth Cohort Study currently running in the centre. My duties include coordination of the daily activities of the project and timely submission of project reports and amendments to regulatory authorities. I’m also responsible for the collection and filing of regulatory binders.

Research interest: Malaria.
