George Wak is a Demographer by training (MA) and is currently the head of the Demographic Surveillance System of the Navrongo Health Research Centre in Ghana. He has been working with the centre since 1992 as a fieldworker and has risen through the ranks of field supervisor, research assistant and now a Research Officer and the head of the DSS.

With his wealth of experience in the organization and running of a DSS, he has served as a resource for a number of DSS sites in Africa. His research interest is households, migration and mortality. He is a member of the INDEPTH Migration and Urbanization Working Group. He has attended a number of conferences and made presentations on various demographic themes. He has also been co-author of several publications.
