Academic Qualification/Expertise:
Life history in NHRC: Joined the Research Centre on the 20th of May, 1992 as a field worker/supervisor and later Senior field Supervisor(vector collection) on the Entomology Project, an arm of the Impregnated Bednets Trials Study(Impact of permethrin impregnated bednets on child mortality in Kassena-Nankana district, Ghana: a randomized controlled trial), Binka FN et al.
Caught mosquitoes and processed them for bioassays, eliza and other studies.
May 1995 – June 1996: Worked in the Navrongo Demographic Surveillance Systems, conducting verbal autopsies (VAs).
June 1996 – October 1997: Worked as a Field Supervisor in the Malaria Attack Rates Study(Seasonal Malaria Attack Rates in Infants and Young Children in Northern Ghana)

October 1997 – August 2000: I enrolled into Rural Health Training School, Ghana Health Service, Kintampo where I persued a three year diploma course in Community Health(majoring in Health Information Management systems).
November 2000 – April 2007: As an Assistant Research Officer, I Coordinated field activities on the bi-annual Cerebro-spinal meningitis Carriage Surveys (Clonal Waves of Neisseria Colonisation and Disease in the African Meningitis Belt: Eight- Year Longitudinal Study in Northern Ghana) Julia Liemkugel et al.
Involved in recruitment, training and supervision of data collection teams (field workers) and coordinated field activities on the Roll Back Malaria surveys(Assessing malaria control in the Kassena-Nankana district of northern Ghana through repeated surveys using the RBM tools) Seth Owusu-Agyei et al.
November 2001 – October 2006: Data Manager for the Malaria Transmission Intensity and Mortality Burdens across Africa(MTIMBA) project..
What work I'm currently doing: Currently the Data Manager/Health Information Officer in charge of the War Memorial Hospital’s Management Information Systems. I design computerised database systems to capture all clients/patients reporting to the hospital. This database is periodically analysed to assess both communicable and non-communicable disease trends and other important variables for decision making for the hospital and NHRC.
Employment History: Before joining NHRC, I worked as a national service person in the Regional Department of Community Development in Bolgatanga, and later did pupil teaching in Baare JSS in the Talensi-Nabdam district both in the Upper East Region..
